Registration Information

Thank you for your interest in the Westboro Nursery School.  We are proud of our cooperative preschool program, which has been in operation for almost 40 years.  Our school director and teachers, trained in early childhood education, have created a stimulating program, which allows children to learn through creative play

As a cooperative program, member parents are essential to classroom activities, and if interested, in the school administration as part of the parent executive committee.

Requirements

The successful operation of a cooperative school depends on the involvement of member parents. Your contribution is key to the school's success.  Parents are required to help in several ways.  Approximately once a month (depending on class size), the parent or caregiver is required to be a parent assistant in the classroom, helping our fulltime staff in such ways as preparing snacks, mixing paints, cleaning up, etc.  In addition, each family is required to provide assistance outside of class time in other areas.  Please refer to the registration form for a detailed list of parental duties.  Each family must indicate at the time of registration its preference for involvement.

An Orientation Meeting will be held in September to acquaint the parents with the school, the teachers and other member parents.  It is desirable that both parents make every effort to attend this meeting; at least one parent MUST attend (no children, please).  A letter announcing the date and location of this meeting will be mailed to you in August.  There is also a requirement to attend a General Meeting in the New Year.

Children must be toilet trained.  Transportation of your child to and from school is your responsibility and should be established before school begins.
